Balance ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. Balance is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- All data you enter (friends, entries, goals, notes) is stored locally on your device
- We do not have access to your data
- We do not track your usage or behavior
- We do not collect analytics
- We do not use any third-party tracking services
Data Storage
Your data is stored in the following ways:
- Local Storage: All app data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework
- iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is securely synced through Apple's iCloud service using your Apple ID. This data is encrypted and only accessible to you
- Photos: If you add photos for friends, they are stored locally on your device
Data We Never Collect
We want to be clear about what we do NOT collect:
- Personal identification information
- Contact information
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Usage analytics
- Advertising identifiers
- Financial information
Third-Party Services
Balance does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service used is:
- Apple Push Notification Service: Used to deliver local notifications (birthday reminders, goal deadlines) that you set within the app. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with any third parties. Since we don't have access to your data, there is nothing to share.
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Apple's device encryption
- Your device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
- Apple's iCloud encryption (if iCloud sync is enabled)
Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete individual friends or entries at any time within the app
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data
- To remove iCloud data, go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Balance
Children's Privacy
Balance does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. The app does not collect any personal information from any users.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
