Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Balance mobile application ("App") operated by Balance ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Balance is a personal friendship tracking application that allows you to:
- Track interactions and care given/received in friendships
- Set reminders for birthdays and goals
- View statistics about your friendships
- Organize friends into groups
The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.
3. User Responsibilities
When using the App, you agree to:
- Use the App only for its intended purpose
- Not use the App to track or monitor others without their knowledge or consent
- Be responsible for all data you enter into the App
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
4. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information. In summary: all your data stays on your device, and we don't collect any personal information.
5. Data and Content
You retain all rights to the data you enter into the App. You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of information you enter
- Backing up your data (via iCloud or device backups)
- Any content you add, including photos and notes
We are not responsible for any loss of data due to device failure, app deletion, or other circumstances.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Use our trademarks or branding without permission
- Create derivative works based on the App
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

- Property damage
arising out of or related to your use of the App.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Balance and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. App Store Terms
Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and conditions of the Apple App Store. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the App Store terms, the App Store terms shall prevail.
